Day 4 morning update

This morning, thanks to Mary, we got to abandon gas station food for a delicious, home-cooked hot breakfast. She made us scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, cinnamon swirl toast, croissants, cinnamon apple muffins, cranberry juice and coffee.

She even packed us some muffins and almonds for the road. As much as I love trail mix (to-date I've eaten 7 bags since Thursday), the home-baked muffins are a nice treat.

We really enjoyed listening to Marion talk about her husband (and Mary's father), George. Marion is a snapshot of what the institution of marriage is about. They were married in 1945 when Marion was 20 and he was 23 - 11 children later, they were married over 60 years. Marion said, "I was married for 60 years to my best buddy."

Marion gives us hope that our generation of online daters can find love, too.

Mary has known Courtney since she was a baby and Courtney's dad, Tom, since the 1970's so she showed us a picture of them around when they met.

We're about to grab our muffins and head out - New Jersey here we come!
